Yannick Bright, the 2021 United Soccer Coaches First Team All American
Yannick Bright wrote history. His and YesWeCollege’s, which for the first time is celebrating the inclusion of one of its student-athletes into the elite ranks of American college soccer.
The class of 2001 midfielder, who after participating in the 2019 International Showcase was recruited by the University of New Hampshire the following year, ended his sensational season with the most prestigious award reserved for collegiate athletes. In fact, Bright was selected, thanks to the votes of the United Soccer Coaches, to the NCAA Division I All-American lineup, the season’s Top 11 that honors the best soccer players of the year in America’s top college league.
An incredible accomplishment for Yannick, crowning a fantastic year for him and his Wildcats. Always a starter in the season’s 21 games, the Lombard midfielder has been one of the draggers for a New Hampshire team capable of win the America East Conference regular season, reach the playoff finals and earn entry into the main draw of the national championship, where with the number 16 seed he beat North Carolina only to surrender against Oregon State, ranked number one.
A very high-profile journey that has not gone unnoticed among NCAA Division I coaches. Not surprisingly, Bright was voted among the top 11 in the league, following up on his rookie season in which he managed to take home inclusion in the America East Conference’s top 11 rookies. Yannick was not satisfied, however, and deservedly so. a place among the best 11 young soccer players in the U.S. college league. Congratulations Yannick: you are now an All-American!
